Pipes, hobs and bananas.
This week's guest tutor was Maleny fiddle player Cath Ovenden, who taught The Pipe on The Hob. I am reliably informed (though I am in Shropshire) that the supper consisted of a yummy banana cake!
Wednesdays, 7pm-9pm, Maleny Presbyterian Hall, Cedar Street. $12 includes supper.
If you can pick out a tune on your instrument and would like to learn some traditional repertoire, you're ready to join the class! Maleny Tunes Class students play a range of instruments including flute, whistle, mandolin, fiddle and concertina.
Tunes are taught slowly, by ear, and half-way through the evening we enjoy a well-deserved supper and chat.
We welcome new players. To get the most out of the class, you should know the names of the notes on your instrument, and be able to play at least a D major and G major scale and a melody or two. If you need help to improve your skills, why not book in with Nicole for a private lesson or two! (0410 715 787)
